Fellowship Course in Embryology




Introduction

The main goal of the fellowship course in Embryology at IHR is to offer opportunity to learn, gain experience, to undertake employment in laboratory management in Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) as per ART law 2021-22. The intensive curriculum includes theoretical, practical, and clinical training in both fundamental and advanced aspects of ART spread over a period of 4 years. The practical training uses state-of-the-art facilities to transform students from trainees to skilled embryologists to work independently in ART centers.

Prerequisites

The candidate must have either of the mentioned qualification:

1. Post Graduate in clinical embryology (graduated with full time program with minimum four semesters) from a recognized University.

2. Ph.D. holder full time (Ph.D project shall be related to Clinical Embryology or assisted reproductive technology or fertility)

3. Veterinary graduate (BVSc) with a post graduate degree in Clinical Embryology

4. Post Graduate in life sciences or Biotechnology.

5. The candidate should be below 40 years.



Number of Fellowship Positions

One candidate is accepted into the program in every 24 months. Accepted fellows will start the fellowship training program from 1st September each year.

Course Duration

The fellowship in Embryology requires one year of training.

Thereafter they shall be serving IHR as an Embryologist for the next 3 years.



Academic, Teaching and Administration

The main aim of the fellowship is to enable him/her to practice with competence in the field of embryology.

To achieve the goal, the fellow must deepen their basic knowledge in embryology beyond what they acquire in their training previously.

The fellow will take an active role in ongoing academic teaching activities, journal clubs, and case presentations and other paper works.

The fellow shall be present for all important procedures done in the laboratory.

Holidays


The candidate is allowed to take 25 days holiday per year

The candidates have to do two days extra duties for every extra holiday above 25 days without any stipend.

1. Once confirmation is received, an admission fee of Rs. 2, 00,000/- (Rs. Two Lakhs only) need to be deposited within 15 days of the confirmation letter. The admission fee is non-refundable under any circumstances.

Terms & Conditions:
1. Courses and Fees:
- Fellowship on Reproductive Medicine – Rs. 2,00,000/- (Rupees Two lakhs only).
2. The whole course fee should be sent in advance by demand draft/cheque/bank transfer in favor of “INSTITUTE OF HUMAN REPRODUCTION” payable at Guwahati, India.
3. Periodical review of the applications received is made and selected candidates will be informed of the allotted course and batch well in time.
4. Failure to join the allotted course under any circumstances, will entail cancellation of the allotment, Fees paid will stand fortified (no refund), and candidates, have to wait for their turn, if willing to undergo training in future batch, as fresh incumbent only, after due application, fees, etc afresh.
